INSTALLATION

 

WHAT ABOUT STUDS?
To avoid studs, hammer a finish nail along bottom line of template. If you hit a stud move the template to left or right as needed. Note: most studs are 14 inches apart (16 inches on center) but may vary around toilet walls. You may also use a "stud finder" purchased in most hardware stores.
WHAT ABOUT PLUMBING?
The wall behind toilet will have at least a water supply line on lower left side of toilet. Avoid wall behind toilet, if possible. Avoid any shared tub/shower walls on either side of toilet. A shared closet wall on either side of toilet is a good option.
WHAT ABOUT ELECTRICAL?
It is rare that electrical outlets are located near or around your toilet. Check opposite side of shared toilet walls to make sure there are no outlets in adjacent rooms. Most wires for wall switches will be above Brush Away™ installation location.

IS IT PAINTABLE?
Yes, Brush Away™ is paintable using regular latex house paint. Paint the cabinet and door separately. Apply desired color in two to three light coats. Wipe any excess paint around the edges of opening. Primer is NOT necessary.

CAN I WALLPAPER BRUSH-AWAY™?
Yes, but it is recommended to have this done by a professional.
IF I INSTALL BRUSH-AWAY™ IN A TILE WALL, HOW LONG WILL THE HINGE LAST?
The hinges were specifically designed to be simple and durable. With extensive testing, the hinges have never failed. One test installation is going strong after 3 years in a tile wall.
Caulk between sheetrock wall, tile or marble. Paint or wallpaper Brush-Away™, if desired.

 

CLEANING & USE

 

CAN I CLEAN IT?
Yes, Brush Away™ has a removable door for easy cleaning! With the door in the open position, twist door slightly while lifting it up and out. Rinse and air dry. It is recommended that you shake off the brush well after each use.
WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO CLEAN IT?
You can put a toilet bowl cleaner or general purpose cleaner in the bottom of the brush cup. It serves to disinfect the cup and provide cleaner when using the brush. We also suggest filling it with OxyClean or like product and fill with hot water and let soak for 10 minutes. Rinse both the cup and brush before retuning to cabinet for the next use.
WHAT IS BRUSH-AWAY™ MADE OF?
Brush Away™ is made from durable ABS plastic for years of reliable use.
HOW DO I OPEN IT?
Press top center of door. Door will open about 1/2" with a magnetic latch. Release from latch to open fully. Reverse this to close.
MAY I USE DIFFERENT BRUSHES?
A brush is included; however, many other brushes will fit including the disposable brushes.
